The Role:
Our clients is urgently looking for a competent, pro-active HSE Advisor to help support their health and safety efforts on an Electrical Substation site in Blyth. The appointed candidate will need to be flexible and work weekends and on a shift system 7 days on - 2 days off or 12 days on - 3 days off. The role will be shared with an existing advisor already based up there to ensure they have support every day. This role will be electrically biased so candidates who have been involved in Electrical / Electrical substation projects and have experience in that area would be ideal candidates

Main Duties:
* Conduct Health and Safety site inspections including verification of close-out actions;
* Conducting Health and Safety internal audits including verification of close-out actions;
* Develop HSE Plans;
* Conduct incident investigation down to root cause level and produce thorough written reports;
* Analysis of Health and Safety data and development of action plans to address any issues raised;
* Provide support to the site management team to ensure a rigorous review Risk Assessments and Method Statements is conducted to ensure safe systems of work are both appropriate and effective;
* Promoting a safety culture to clients and employees thorough presentation, campaigns etc
* Provide Health and Safety support throughout the organisation as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* A candidate with experience in Health and Safety in an electrical environment ( Substation or HVDC Power Station)
* Nationally recognised Health and Safety qualifications are essential with membership of an appropriate Institute preferred.
* The role requires a team player, able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and determination to deliver continuous improvement throughout the various elements of an electrical power project management business. Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills. A high level of IT literacy is essential.
* Member of IOSH
* 5 Years experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* BESC desirable but not essential
* HVDC Experience preferred
