The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced M&E Substation HSE advisor, the role is based in Kent covering 3 sites. Important:- You will have experience of working within close proximity to energised equipment.

Support & ensure a rigorously review risk assessments and method statements for safe systems of work are both appropriate and effective.
Conduct site HSE inspections and audits, attend client meetings, promote the company safety culture to clients, contractors and employees.

The 3 sites are:-

Richborough - Full time cover until end of November 2019 - currently undertaking cable pulling works 132 UKPN substation,
Canterbury - 400 kV substation now, (near completion) currently undertaking snagging works so minimal cover required until October
Rampion - 400kv substation land reinstatement works underway - 1 day a week site visit required, dial skype calls and review of RAMS as and when required.

Primary Site contact with the client on HSE issues and discussions.
Primary contact with the Subcontractors on HSE issues and discussions.
Regularly update HSE documentation & processes consistent with Legislation - Construction Industry best practice
Define, document, maintain and continuously improve the project documentation and perform lessons learnt.
Provide expert advice on HSE legislation and good practice,
Advise and support construction supervisors in the management of HSE during all construction activities
Ability to review, comment and accept sub contract documentation such as method statements, risk assessments, lift plans etc.
Audit compliance to HSE requirements, both within the project and with suppliers and subcontractors
Provide information for management reports covering HSE-related activities and incidents
Provide input to the investigation process of accidents and incidents
Produce monthly HSE KPIs and management information
Work proactively with different project management teams, suppliers and client HSE teams to transfer experience and seek to deliver industry best practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HSE professional with minimum 10 years experience
Hands on site safety supervision experience
Qualified to Diploma level in H&S Management - OHSAS - NEBOSH
Conversant with relevant safety standards
Working knowledge and practical experience of environmental regulations
Computer literate & proficient IT skills
Excellent communication skills and professional conduct.
