The Role:
As a HV Engineer, you will responsible for providing technical expertise and support to both internal and external customers for high voltage systems and components up to 400kV. You will be involved in projects from initial solution capture meetings alongside sales & marketing teams, through to product application and tender submission, HV system and equipment design whilst also offering technical support to customers throughout installation and commissioning.

Alongside this, you will also be responsible for the following areas:

* Business development - liaise with customers on development and approvals of High Voltage Transmission & Distribution equipment
* Manage sub suppliers and Focus Feeder Factories to deliver contracts on time and to specification
* Interfacing with HV Circuit Breaker (AIS & GIS), Instrument Transformer, Surge Arrester, Capacitor divisions as well as Service Department.
* Interface with Tendering and Sales team to optimize solutions for the customer
* Liaise with site contractors to facilitate installation and commissioning of HV equipment
* Work with internal functions to ensure customer feedback is prioritized.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
This is an extremely varied role that would suit someone from a Design or Project Engineering background, with experience of HV equipment and substations in support of the UK T&D and DNO market.

* Extensive engineering experience, electrical and mechanical with respect to HV sub-station equipment.
* Sector knowledge to include Utility, Transmission and Renewables sectors.
* Team player with the ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.
* Experience of MS office software.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* In depth knowledge of Electrical Power System Design, including specification of High Voltage Equipment and Systems
* Ability to review block diagrams / electrical schematics
* Knowledge of Electrical protection systems
* Experience of AutoCAD, for editing purposes
