The Role:
Our client is looking for a Procurement and Contract specialists for an immediate start. The role will be initially 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension, performance permitting. The role will be project focused, supporting our clients busy tendering pipeline. Due to COVID restrictions the role will allow for remote based working with the possibility of a face to face update every week in our clients Stone office.

Main Account-abilities:
· Procurement - Designs and implements plans for local sourcing to reach the business targets. Supports regional and global sourcing initiatives as required.
· Contractor Identification - Identifies new contracted services suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifies new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
· Negotiation - Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and (where applicable) periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions.
· Contracts - Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Prepares subcontracts Preparing contractual documentation for subcontractor work enquiries including but not limited to detailing the scope of works, evaluating quotations and recommending preferred supplier, ensuring the flow down of key terms and conditions from the client contract to mitigate commercial and contractual risks. Understands contractual and commercial risks, the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc; Understands the principles of contract law and its importance in defence/application of contractual claims. Where applicable recommends frame agreements to management and executes upon approval.
· Bid Analysis - Analyzes and evaluates bids in order to determine the optimal value
· Sales support - Supports bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information.
· Supplier Performance - Oversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues.
· Customer Alignment - Aligns supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) / project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price.
· Process Alignment - Conducts all Procurement & Logistcs activities for all goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensures SAP Ariba global supplier relationship management platform is kept updated.
· Excellence - Applies and implements P&L standards, tools and processes in the area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost and sustainability.
· Reporting - Creates and updates reports, as required, following the Power Grids business standards.
· Change Management - Executes and implements new directions within the area of responsibility.
· Compliance - Applies standards on health, safety, environment and business ethics within operational work, contract management and negotiations.
· Training - Delivers and participates in training programs as required for compliance and professional development.
· Communication - Executes effective and transparent communication internally, externally and between different units and centers.
· Initiate and maintain a means of contractual understanding within Project Teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
· Degree level qualified or equivalent
· Preferably a member of a professional body e.g.CIPS.
· UK Construction Industry experience preferably electricity supply, rail, and industrial sectors.
· Professional and Approachable individual with an excellent prioritization and time management skills
· Working knowledge of NEC3 & 4, FIDIC and Bespoke forms of contracts.
· Understanding of contractual and commercial risks, the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibility of individuals.
· Understanding of the principles of contract law and its importance in defence/application of contractual claims.
· Computer literacy - Minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
· Team player
· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (Written and Oral).
· A tenacious individual who wants answers, listens, defines problems and not afraid to implement changes
· An analytical person who can demonstrate attention to detail and

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
· Experience working in the Electricity Supply Industry (or similar client base with projects incorporating electrical engineering scope).
· Understanding of planning processes and tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project
· Understand the use of account software's such as SAP or similar project/commercial management tools such as
· Able to compile presentation slides including making presentations to groups utilizing presentation tools such as power point.
