The Role:
Role Outline
Key role in the delivery of EPC schemes with the responsibility for conceptual design through to functional design for the Protection and Control system and associated auxiliary systems.

Job Role
* To provide technical support in scheme option development and scope clarification against customer specifications, UK standards and design proposals for cost-effective solutions
* To produce engineering time estimates and forecasts to complete.
* To develop technical specification for Plant items such as CT's, VT's, Circuit Breakers, auxiliary supply boards and Protection & Control Equipment
* Preparation of schematic Diagrams such as:
AC connection diagrams and block tripping diagrams
Distance and unit protection schemes
Biased differential transformer protection & Overcurrent and earth fault protection
Control schemes such as Synchronizing, delayed auto reclose
Busbar protection and Circuit breaker fail schemes
Auxiliary systems and Local Control cubicles
* To input into design review meetings and design risk registers
* To calculate Cable, Battery and LVAC loading requirements.
* To provide support during the production of Wiring Diagrams, Cable Schedules, core sheets and other general interfacing diagrams.

* To hold and participate in design and hazard reviews.
* To strengthen customer relationships through presentation and delivery of successful design solutions.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Electricity supply industry experience
* Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV)
* HNC/HND in electrical engineering or equivalent
* Good team work, Analytical and communication skills
* Capable of working to tight time scales
* TP141 Authorisation

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree qualification in Electrical Power Engineering
