The Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Site HSE Advisor
The role will focus on ensuring that the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance are achieved, monitored & maintained and to drive continuous improvement on the project Site. This includes managing the HSE aspects of Management of Subcontractors in UK and site activities in Blyth.

Additional duties include providing environmental lead for project in UK.
Primary Site contact with the client on HSE issues and discussions.
Primary contact with the Subcontractors on HSE issues and discussions.
Regularly update HSE documentation & processes consistent with Legislation - Construction Industry best practice
Define, document, maintain and continuously improve the project documentation and perform lessons learnt.
Provide expert advice on HSE legislation and good practice, so that business, corporate and legal requirements are met in an effective and appropriate manner both at site.
Advise and support construction supervisors in the management of HSE during all construction activities, so that best practice is consistently applied.
Ability to review, comment and accept sub contract documentation such as method statements, risk assessments, lift plans etc.
Define and maintain the training & competency records
Audit compliance to HSE requirements, both within the project and with suppliers and subcontractors
Provide information for management reports covering HSE-related activities and incidents
Provide input to the investigation process of accidents and incidents
Lead on the development of HSE performance improvement strategies and campaigns
Produce monthly HSE KPIs and management information
Promote occupational health on the project
Train/organise training
Work proactively with different project management teams, suppliers and client HSE teams to transfer experience and seek to deliver industry best practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills and professional conduct.
HSE professional with minimum 8 years of major design and construction project experience.
Hands on site safety supervision experience
Qualified to Diploma level in H&S Management
Auditor
Strong organizational & communication skills
Conversant with relevant ISO & OHSAS standards
Working knowledge and practical experience of environmental regulations
Chartered member of relevant professional bodies (e.g. IOSH)
Computer literate & proficient IT skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
HV power systems experience
Experience in the Line Management and development of staff
Qualified to Diploma level in Environmental Management: Optional
