The Role:
Reporting to the UK Corporate Financial Controller, with a dotted line to the UK Country Tax Manager, this is a great opportunity for someone early on in their profession who are looking to have their career significantly developed within a multi-billion (£) company. After a recent merge, you will be working within the European leader within the power sector, particularly focusing preparation of the CT and VAT computations & returns for the UK group subsidiaries and management of related tax compliance in accordance with local requirements. The role will also support tax & statutory reporting colleagues in the submission of legal entity financial data to Group.

You will receive a fantastic amount of support from Senior members within the team to develop your skills and progress you within the company; support will be offered with necessary exams/qualifications where required. So, what will you be doing on a day to day?

* Preparation of Corporation Tax computations for all UK tax resident entities for review by the CTM including managing the quarterly Group tax payments in the UK, and tax accounting/balances for all UK tax resident entities.
* Involvement in quarterly and annual tax reporting including assistance with the preparation of current and deferred tax calculations.
* Assistance with the provision of information for preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
* Other direct tax responsibilities include assistance with the fulfillment of withholding tax compliance and reporting obligations, maintenance of tax resident certificates, analyzing data for research and development claims; expense analysis and PSA returns etc.
* Preparation of UK and IE VAT returns for review by the CTM.
* Preparation of Intrastat returns, EC Sales list, etc.
* Support the preparation of UK & I Statutory accounts and liaison with external audit bodies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Accountancy/Tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT)
* 1-2 years post qualification experience
* Experience of Corporate tax return and VAT return preparation
* Experience of tax accounting (particularly under IFRS) preferred
* Experience with Microsoft Office, excellent ability with Microsoft Excel
* Ability to deliver results under pressure
* Strong communication skills
* Alphatax knowledge preferred
* Team player
* Attention to detail
* Willingness to learn and apply experience gained
* Ability to manage workload and prioritise
