The Role:
The Rotating Equipment Technical Authority will have the following key job responsibilities: -
* Key accountability for managing the ongoing suitability of identified rotating equipment Safety Critical Elements (SCEs), maintaining relevant Process Safety Information (PSI), owning associated Technical Codes and Standards and executing the company's Asset Integrity Management Program (all in relation to identified critical rotating equipment)
* Own all hydrocarbon-rotating equipment related performance standards, maintain these and approve any changes to them. Resolve issues identified by Operational Verification and Class Inspections which require technical expertise or amendment to the Performance Standard. Ensure the quality and timeliness of the close out of issues raised by regulatory bodies (e.g. HSE, BEIS etc.)
* Recommend and approve changes to planned maintenance for critical rotating equipment to drive improved efficiency and reliability
* Manage vendor contracts as required
* Recommend, justify and approve planned outage scopes of work
* Ensure that any deviations from Performance Standards or deferral of any safety critical maintenance activities (includes Integrity Critical maintenance) are fully risk assessed and that any mitigating actions to support continued safe operation are in place and that risks to personnel remain ALARP.
* Approve or reject requests for deviations from relevant technical standards and procedures. Liaise with Global Technical Authority to obtain concurrence for waivers associated with high criticality CES in line with Global FA Framework document
* Act as the principal discipline Functional Reviewer within the F&O MOC process. Provide design assurance through Functional Reviews and through the review and control of Process Safety Information during design execution and close-out.
* Provide input to Risk Management Activities (iHazid, PHA/SOA, FERA, SIL etc.) as required.
* Participate in industry bodies, corporate technical networks, JIPs keep abreast of best industry practice, revised legislation and guidance and technology development. Share best practice and lessons learned.
* Also has several secondary roles in support of the BU namely: -
o Supporting BU-related MCPs
o Supporting Base Business processes
o Develop Organizational Capability (assist in the recruitment and development of discipline engineers and offshore technicians as required; mentoring discipline engineers and ensuring that discipline-specific competence management and development paths are in place)
o Facilitating Knowledge Transfer and Technology Development

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* An industry-recognized academic engineering qualification and, preferably, Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration
* Significant relevant experience in the rotating equipment discipline area, including at least 10 years in a relevant technically responsible position in the oil and gas industry. Requires extensive knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, gas turbines and compressors
* Operational, design, maintenance and/or reliability experience with the following specific equipment or similar, would be highly advantageous for this role: - Howden Rotary Screw Compressors, Nuovo Pignone Reciprocating Compressors, Frame 6 John Brown Gas Turbine Generator, Solar Gas Turbine, Wartsila Diesel Generator and FPSO thrusters
* Demonstrates strong project management capability, problem-solving skills and is performance driven
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of personnel, both internal and external. Good teamwork skills, working collabora
