The Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Construction Engineer to join our client's team on a 12+ month contract based in Chinchilla. This role is engaged on a 15 day on, 13 day off roster, and you may be required to FIFO, Site based Surat Basin (must be able to undertake domestic travel).

Position Specific:

  • Review IFR project construction & commissioning documentation including SOW, Design Drawings, commissioning strategy etc.
  • Assist supervision and management in the development of construction methodology/ project execution plans
  • Liaise with Construction Management and Contractors clarifying all design aspects to ensure that they are safely and efficiently constructed
  • Participation in design development workshops with Engineering Contractor
  • Assist Field engineering & completions with maintenance of accurate records
  • Support Field Engineering surveys and prepare detailed field sketches / reports / calculations
  • Provide advice on the technical resolution of construction and design queries and make recommendations
  • Carry out inspections and verifications in accordance with the approved Inspection & Test Plans
  • Lead / Participate in Project Readiness Review meetings
  • On-site coverage for all shut-down works
  • Generate fortnightly handover record for B2B for each swing transition
  • Scope of Work reviews
  • HAZID / HAZOP sessions
  • RFI & TQ development
  • Site surveys / verification / photos
  • Issue resolutions where site visits are required to determine or confirm a particular condition.
  • Inspection of materials should assistance be required from the materials controller
  • Liaison between all respective external stakeholders
  • Ensure that safe practice is always adhered to and adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Circa 3-5 years of Upstream Projects experience in the Oil & Gas industry; CSG experience advantageous
  • Experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems
  • Educated in technical or engineering discipline at tertiary level
  • Experience with, and commitment to, engineering systems, procedures and quality assurance
  • Experience in development of Procedures and ITP's
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with field safety management and commitment to safety
  • Experience of working within a controlled change management culture to ensure that any changes are fully assessed and approved
  • Knowledge of quantifying and assessing risk and developing risk mitigation strategies
  • Commercially aware, and able to apply this to realise asset improvement opportunities through project delivery
  • Able to apply appropriate standards in own area and has awareness of functional assurance processes
