The Role:
My client is seeking for an experienced Contracts Assistant to drive new and established contracts in the department. The Contracts Assistant will be the go to person for Contracts & Procurement knowledge.

Key responsibilities:
1. Needs / gaps assessment (may include reviewing Indigenous agreements)
2. Developing content and forming scopes, coordinating input from the team.
3. Support the procurement process, in consultation with the Contract Holder and CP (e.g. recommended sourcing method and activities, tender/response evaluations, vendor assessment and due diligence, contract drafting, negotiation and execution; drafting of contract management plan/tools where required).
4. Liaison between the Indigenous Participation and Cultural Heritage (IPCH) team within Social Performance and CP
5. Working in collaboration in Contract Holders to assess demand / costs / budget requirements
6. Responsible for providing strategic contracts advice and support to the responsible Contract Holder
7. Supplier identification and capability assessment
8. Planning and implementing external engagement
9. Support the design of, and assisting with, the tendering process on behalf of team
10. Supporting the contract holder with the HSSE and contracts management plan development
11. Advocate procurement governance and compliance
12. Coaching Contract Owners and Holders to optimise supplier performance within the contract framework
13. Developing and implementing contract management plans to monitor performance and resolve issues

Experience:
* 5+ years Contracts and Procurement experience
* Specific experience working within Indigenous stakeholders or land access desired
* Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and dispute resolution
* Project management experience
Ability
* Ability to work within a non-contract focused team
* Ability to upskill non-technical experts on contractual requirements and compliance
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team
* Strong communication skills
