The Role:
Our client is seeking an Environment Compliance Advisor on a 12-month contract, based in their Brisbane office. Reporting to Lead Compliance you will be responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory conditions and Company's requirements. In this role you need to travel to Chinchilla or Gladstone occasionally for assurance activities

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing company's Environmental Management system
  • Identification, review and management of priority compliance and EMS risk areas and drive continual improvement
  • Provide analysis and associated technical advice to ensure regulatory compliance for company's Environmental obligations
  • Identify where permit amendments or new permits are required
  • Prepare regulatory notifications and correspondence
  • Coordinate and deliver internal assurance and audits
  • Record and maintain information within company's databases
  • Provide and maintain records demonstrating compliance
  • Contact point for regulators and external stakeholders
  • Report on third party obligations
  • Promote and implement a safety culture

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Science, Law or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in field-based role in Oil & Gas industry
  • Able to clearly articulate and communicate compliance requirements and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Document and reporting writing skills
  • Skilled in EMS, and Environmental Regulations, Permits and Standards
  • Able to build cross-functional working relationships.
  • Autonomous in managing own work schedule and adapt to changing priorities based on regulatory time-frames
  • Able to challenge the status quo with confidence in environment and provide steer and guidance for better solutions or controls

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:

  • Regulatory permit application and amendment skills
