Our client is a global, pioneering operator with continued growth in Australia developing large gas resources and maintaining a substantial exploration portfolio. Our client has over 90,000 personnel worldwide across 70 countries making them one of the largest oil and gas operators in the world. Our client is also involved in ground-breaking projects the likes of which the world has never seen before thus confirming their reputation as an innovator in oil and gas technology.

The Role:
On behalf of our client we are seeking a value enthused and business acumen External Relations professional who has a thorough understanding and experience of the Australian Oil and Gas industry. In being responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients as well as consistently developing a strong narrative for the company, you will utilize your proven experience in developing and implementing a variety of communication and engagement strategies/ plans focusing on risk management, external, digital and marketing communication. This 12 month maternity cover with an ideal start date for mid July, will include the following responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Execute annual communication and engagement strategies and plans that integrate action in the areas of issues and risk management, external communication, marketing communication, digital communication.
  • Produce communication materials and manage communication channels.
  • Maintain and develop internal relationships ensuring actions to address emerging and current risks with a potential impact on reputation.
  • Implement integration and Stakeholder Relations plans and activities.
  • Support crisis management activities and provide emergency response support to the business.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Strong working experience in a similar Advisory position within the Oil and Gas/Resources industry.
  • Ideally holds a bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Public Relations or other relevant qualification.
  • Working knowledge of copywriting, long text writing and proofreading.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and positively manage internal and external relationships.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft suite and experience in managing website content management systems.
