The Role:
New vacancy for an experienced and driven External and Government Affairs professional to provide maternity cover to a leading O&G External and Government Relations team.

The position will be based in central Brisbane to commence in December until February 2020.

In supporting the business's license to operate responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Understand and inform the business policy trends, regulatory requirements and key decision makers/influencers in Queensland Government at a Federal level
  • Develop and execute communication and leverage activities for key business activities
  • Provide advice and support for key non technical risks and opportunities
  • Develop and manage key stakeholder and government relationships - providing briefings and actions necessary for a successful engagement program
  • Ensure narratives, messages and content on key non-technical risks and opportunities for the businesses on the East coast are current
  • Inform internal stakeholders of QLD political/policy developments
  • Identify and understand government policies and regulatory requirements that have relevance to the business
  • Represent the interests of the businesses policy issues and projects with Government officials
  • Provide professional advice regarding business strategies and activities to governmental and/or inter-governmental organizations
  • Understand the opportunities, challenges, trends, issues and risks in the external landscape relevant to countries, projects and technology

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Political science/Economics/Mass Communications/Public Relations/Marketing;
  • Demonstrated collaboration and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience in partnering with business on all levels and able to build sustained and trusted relationships
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage complexity
  • Strong ability to strategies and translate external challenges and translate business objectives / external challenges into multi-channel strategies / plans;
  • High degree of personal initiative, drive, and desire to come up with targeted creative solutions;
  • Strong Verbal and written skills
