The Role:
A leading Oil & Gas company is seeking a Mechanical Technician on a 12 month contract, based in Chinchilla. Duties will include:

  • Operate and carry out basic maintenance of valves, pumps, piping and tanks or as directed by the Pipeline supervisor
  • Patrol, maintain and monitor the pipeline ROW (Right of Way) including access
  • Monitor, inspect and supervise contractors and third party activity on or near the ROW
  • Carry out routine pigging and observe key pipeline pressures during this process
  • Carry out vegetation control monitoring, erosion repairs and other civil maintenance
  • Assist in the review of company policy and standard operating procedures for the safe operation of all facility plant and equipment
  • Assist in the drafting and revision of Isolation Procedures for Mechanical maintenance
  • Provide on-site representation for Operations during all third part activities
  • Execute/perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on plant and equipment
  • Prepare documentation, tools and equipment required for shutdowns
  • Maintain maintenance records through effective documentation in conjunction within Maximo CMMS

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience in similar field
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Relevant qualification desirable
