The Role:
Reporting to the Tendering Manager, the Bid Manager will create, and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specifications or requirements in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the Company.

Key Undertakings
* Evaluation of client enquiry documentation and interpretation of their requirements, and assessment of commercial terms and conditions.
* Formulate competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking into account the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
* Manage the preparation of all technical, financial, cash flow and operational delivery aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
* Identify potential risks and opportunities in contract agreements across customers/channels.
* Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and evaluate supplier offers to match with specifications in collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
* Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Provide any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during meetings with customers.
* Work across different business streams, cultures and countries. Your success will depend heavily on your ability to network and build relationships with people from all parts of the organisation, UK and overseas.
* Identify client requirements, liaising with internal and external suppliers with close liaison with Sales, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Planning, Engineering and Commercial functions.
* Assist in the Implementation and promotion of all policies and procedures for Sales and Tendering
* Develop and obtain the governance approval (risk review) in accordance with policy
* UK and Oversea travel in line with business requirements
* Interface with the client's team with respect to commercial, contract administration, quantitative risk analysis, agreement of deviations assumptions and weavers.
* Provide ongoing support to the customer by chairing meetings, taking ownership and responding to all post Tender questions, preparing presentations and carrying out contract negotiations.

Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* 5 years previous sales and Tendering experience
* Recognised engineering qualification minimum HNC
* HV (400kV-132kV) and MV (66kV-11kV) knowledge and Industrial substation experience
* Sound communication, presentation and negotiation skills
* Ability to priorities and work to deadlines.
* Ability to work under pressure and work on your own initiative.
* Good PC skills including but not limited to, Office365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* 5 years' Experience within Transmission & Distribution sector
* Experience of Contract terms and conditions, NEC3/4, FIDIC, Orgalime, etc
* Full UK Driving License
