The Role:
Role Outline
You will be required to perform the duties without supervision relating to the post of Service Engineer, and will have relevant experience accumulated to provide a thorough understanding of the Turbochargers range and service requirements. You will be required to Drive customer satisfaction by competent and timely execution on a high quality level of service jobs on site and in the workshop. At all times you will be required to positively influence the reputation by dedicated and professional approach to the customer.
 You will report to the Head of Operations (Marine) for your daily supervision and work allocation, who in turn reports into the Turbochargers Business Unit Manager

 Liaise with Co-ordinators concerning contracts that have traded in the current month.
 Complete briefings with service coordinator, head of workshop or supervisor about the expected situation on site.
 Assist in the long term planning of jobs
 Prepare the tools, equipment and parts needed for a service job and understand the scope of the job to be performed
 Ensure that the documentation for the job is available. Ask for advice in cases some steps are not known.
 Check all relevant information of turbochargers in ATURB beforehand
 Execute a pre risk assessment on site, briefing with crew member on ongoing other activities and instruction for board equipment.
 Working according to working instructions and adhering to regulatory and company OHS policy
 Perform services according to the scope defined within the work order.
 Coordinate work order deviations in the scope with service coordinator and customers representative on board
 Complete data collection (incl. DSA)
 Self-study of technical documentation
 Maintenance of tools and equipment
 Input for continuous process improvement
 Maintaining a clean and proper working environment

 Working in difficult environment (temperature, noise, dirt)
 Working after hours
 Acceptance of field working environment and travel requirements
 Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) even under time pressures
 Handling of different customers and cultures
 Cope with a big variety of different turbocharger generations and types
 Identify client requirements, liaising with internal and external suppliers with close liaison with Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Engineering and Commercial functions.
 Assist in the preparation of the tender documentation including risk assessments.
 Submission of completed tender proposals to meet customer deadlines.
 Contribute to profitable growth across the business

Customer values
 Interact and manage key customers and their expectation of the Service product.
 Ensure legal compliance for customers
 Act as representative of the OEM during interaction with the customer
 Liaise with external clients regarding requirements, ensuring short and long term plans are forecasted and evaluated.
 Recommendation to customer for immediate and future service requirements, provide feedback to service coordinator or end user sales
 Create service reports, time sheets & delivery note, duly signed by customer with DSA
 Support service availability targets (24/7 service availability)
 Collecting information about other turbochargers installed on site, informing service coordinator

 Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering
 Commercial acumen
 Ability to work under pressure and work on your own initiative.
 MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
 Demonstrate excellent customer focus
 Availability to be involved in the on call rota.
 Available to be called on short notice to attend on site.
 Experience of differing business sectors and industry familiarisation
 Knowledge of the product portfolio
 Sound communication, presentation and negotiation skills
 An understanding of the Marine, Oil & Gas, Energy industry with a Turbocharger product knowledge
