The Role:
This position is for a competent Electronic Engineer to join a full life-cycle product design and development team responsible for utility and industrial flow metering instrumentation within a leading global multinational engineering corporation.

Main Accountabilities
* Designing and validating innovative and reliable electronic products delivered to required specifications and agreed timescales
* Working within a multi-functional team of design engineers on new product development projects and legacy product design enhancements.
* Estimating, planning and documenting own work at all stages of development cycle.
* Team working, communicating with and providing technical support to other departments, although working independently if necessary.
* Contributing to product technical specifications and accurate project plans.
* Supporting strategic technology direction through own work and by proposing innovative technology development, application and solutions.
* Assisting with product firmware development, particularly low level functionality.
* Applying a variety of accepted technology concepts as well as having the resourcefulness to apply new methodologies and technologies.
* Engaging in Continuing Professional Development and working towards or maintaining professional registration.
Position Interactions
* Working with other members of the multi-disciplinary team including electronics, firmware and mechanical engineers.
* Collaborating on cross-functional projects with Product Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance engineers, Production Engineering, Manufacturing.
* Working with external service providers e.g. PCB layout outsourcing, component application engineers.

Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Good Masters level degree in Electronic Engineering or other relevant technical discipline.
* At least 2years commercial experience of microcontroller based electronic product design.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience with EMC, analogue electronics, power supplies, PCB layouts, ultra-low power electronics, instrumentation.
* Experience of firmware development in C or C++.
