The Role:
* UK Wide Coverage
* £40,000-£45,000 Basic ,Overtime(/Call Allowance, Company Vehicle Private Health Care, Up to 10% Pension, 25 Days Holiday (+ Bank Holidays)

The successful candidate will be tasked with working independently on customer site and will be tasked with the installation, maintenance, repair and commissioning of protection relays alongside interfacing of SCADA and RTU's.

You will required to work as part of an on-call rota to support customer sites across the UK and you will also have the ability to work independently and under pressure, confident in troubleshooting issues and keen to provide a first class service to customers.

You role will be approximately 40% office based and 60% on customer site.

Role Outline
* Responsible for the support of installed HV and MV Protection Relays including the interface to SCADA, RTU's and Communication Networks. Providing on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance and out of hours call out service.

Main Accountabilities
* Working in conjunction with the Power Grids Grid Automation Department to assist in the installation, commissioning and fault resolution of Protection and SCADA installed base.
* Work on an 'on call Rota' to provide out of hours emergency call out service to existing customers.
* Provide technical support to other team members as required.
* Provide technical support in evaluating customer requirements and answering associated technical queries during Service deliveries.
* Assist Sales & Tendering to impart experience and knowledge into Services from the start.
* Assist with customer approval activities such as Type Registration, ENA and customer specific designs.
* Preparation of technical specifications, test reports, diagrams, test specifications, IED configurations and design drawings etc.
* Maintain the reporting and record system for customer problems and fixes.
* Help to maintain the spares and customer standby systems.
* To ensure compliance with Quality Management System, Safety Procedures and Accountancy Policies.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Strong background and knowledge of power relay and protection systems; from 11kv - 400kv.
* Track-record of working within a Service capacity, with the ability to deal first-hand with customers and troubleshoot engineering issues.
* Good knowledge of SCADA and RTU's.
* Flexibility to travel to customer site at short-notice, with a "get the job done" mentality.
