The Role:
An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Auditor who can manage local BMS for all Power Grid business lines and drive improvement throughout the organisation. The role requires a team player, able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and determination with a passion for improvement and internal auditing to ISO standards.
Based predominately in Stone, with occasional travel to customer sites, this is a fantastic opportunity to work for a business employing over 140,000 people that's renowned for its training, development and cutting edge projects; most notably within HVDC, holding 70% of all VSC links internationally. So what are your main accountabilities?
* Working with the Country Quality & CI manager and the rest of the business units to review the current BMS documentation and processes to ensure compliance with the ISO and other relevant standards.
* Leading ISO and other standards certification audits.
* Attending meetings with departments to improve business processes and procedures
* Develop a clear communication plan on auditing managing a variety of stakeholders and their expectations
* Improve BMS reviewing all associated documentation
* Designing and maintaining an internal audit schedule for all of Power Grids Businesses
* Performing audits against the internal audit plan on business activities
* Follow up non-conformances to closure
* Liaise with the CI team on where opportunities for improvement are identified
* Providing support and guidance to management on how to handle BMS issues
* Preparing BMS reports for management tracking
* Day to day management of the BMS system and updates
* Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required.
The successful candidate will be an experienced ISO auditor ideally with experience in a project management organization You will have worked on the implementation of the ISO standards, be a minimum qualified internal auditor and have experience of continuous improvement activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* In depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and capable of not just maintaining but re aligning the BMS to meet changes in the ISO standards.
* Able to work independently and under pressure, high ownership sense, proactive working style
* Good team player
* Good verbal and written communication skills being able to communicate at all levels within the organization
* Experience of process mapping and implementing, monitoring & improving processes
* Key influencer in driving Quality through an organisation
* A good level of IT literacy
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Six sigma qualification.
* Nationally recognised Quality qualifications with membership of an appropriate Institute preferred
* Knowledge of Health, safety and environmental considerations is preferred
* Electricity Supply Industry, Nuclear Industry, Rail Industry Experience
* Experience in project management environment
* Good understanding of improvement tools such as Lean, SIX SIGMA, Continuous Improvement
