The Role:
Exciting opportunity to work on a permanent basis for a global leader in the power sector. The role will be varied handling multiple small-medium sized industrial and distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Production and Co-ordination of designs on a wide range of projects up to 132kV but predominantly at 66kV, 33kV and 11kV.
* Preparation of technical proposals / presentations and provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc for tenders.
* To be responsible for the delivery of the engineering solution within the time and cost constraints of the project.
* Assist in the development and adherence to the project plan and associated engineering related project costs
* Provide coaching, support and technical advice to colleagues

Position interactions:
* Line Managers for resourcing, domain knowledge and training
* Engineering functions, Protection and Control, primary plant, civils, commissioning and engineering support.
* Customers and suppliers
* Wider project teams incl. Project Managers, SHE's, Quality, Planning, Tendering and Supply Chain
* Working to defined budgetary and time requirements
* Achieving successful design solutions and implementing them to the full satisfaction of all stakeholders
* Familiarisation of emerging markets and new technologies.
* CDM and safe design compliance
* Collaboration and sharing of best practice

* Provide technical support in scope clarification
* Assist in the development of project plans and costs
* Provide technical support with clients and suppliers
* To ensure Design Compliance with relevant project specific and industry standard specifications adhering to company and client procedures.
* To chair internal and external design review meetings.
* To develop technical specification of items such as Transformers, Switchgear, NER's, CT's, VT's, Circuit Breakers, battery systems, LVAC boards and Protection & Control Equipment.
* To develop schemes, wiring diagrams, plant layouts and all associated technical documentation for the complete substation solution.
* Attend site to provide technical support and solutions during construction and commissioning
* Attend factory acceptance tests to ensure compliance and quality in line with specifications

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Minimum qualification of HNC/HND in electrical engineering or equivalent.
* Extensive substation engineering delivery background
* Strong knowledge of MV plant and equipment: switchgear, transformers, protection
* Good commercial acumen

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience working for a DNO
