The Role:
We provide a diverse range of employer-led training, including engineering apprenticeships, degree courses and postgraduate programmes. The company has established strong partnerships with academia including the University of Cumbria and the University of Manchester.

Due to expanding training business, our client is seeking to appoint a Researcher/Instructor in Nuclear Related Technology to meet the emerging skills demand arising from the development and operation of new commercial nuclear power reactors in the UK. To that end, the company is seeking a high-calibre scientist/engineer who wishes to pursue a career in training and education within the rapidly developing nuclear sector.

Duties: The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, project supervision, curriculum development, research and knowledge transfer in the field of nuclear technology, including reactor operation, nuclear fuel cycle technologies, nuclear chemistry and radiation protection. Duties will extend to delivery up to BEng (Hons) level.

Our client operates in over 7 locations within Cumbria and has contributed monumentally to the local supply chain with 97% of apprentices going directly in to full time employment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential: A minimum of BEng or BSc Hons at Class 2.1 or above and a postgraduate qualification in nuclear technology or a related discipline. Desirable: PgCert Ed or equivalent.

Experience: Essential: experience in the application of nuclear technology in an industrial, research or academic environment. Desirable: teaching experience at degree or postgraduate level.
For less experienced candidates or those without a formal teaching background, our client may offer the opportunity to undertake appropriate training and professional development, including working towards a recognised teaching qualification.
