The Role:
Lead Accountabilities:
Health Safety Environment:
* Promote, support and adhere to company Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system
* Ensure HSE issues are given priority consideration by complying with all corporate and operating procedures to align with corporate safety standards and expectations.
* Actively participate in HSE activities as a company Safety Leader by being proactive in hazard ID, reporting of all near misses/incidents, and stop unsafe acts or situations.
* Promote a safe working environment and ensure co-workers fully understand all aspects of the HSE management system in line with their role and responsibilities.
* Incorporate the company safety culture into daily activities and duties, and mentor co-workers on HSE expectations.
* Ensure the corporate SPIRIT values and Life Saving Rules are promoted and supported.

Key Accountabilities:
* Scope and develop problems/opportunities into plant changes.
* Develop basic process and mechanical deliverables and adhere to the APEGA Professional Management Plan for these deliverables..
* Work with engineering teams to deliver more complex process/mechanical deliverables as well as incorporate instrumentation, electrical, automation, civil, fixed mechanical, rotating mechanical and structural considerations into solutions.
* Manage engineering changes leveraging the MMP and Tier 1 project processes, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
* Coordinate multidiscipline teams, engineering and construction activities related to engineering changes
* Building Team Culture - Leverage team knowledge and promote knowledge sharing and development within the team.
* Prioritizing and Allocating Work - Understand relative work priorities, delegate work as appropriate, manage competing demands for resources.

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Senior level, typically 7-10 years of experience.
* Occasional travel and coordination with the site operation
* Understands advanced aspects of discipline and is viewed as an expert in a given field.
* Applies broad range of competencies to develop solutions to complex problems.
* Influences others to achieve objectives.
* Often provides specialized/technical/functional guidance to others within department and/or business asset.
* Emphasis on understanding technical details of problems and independently researching and engaging the right focus area experts to develop the best solution.
* Manages and engages stakeholders. Must have strong team skills to build consensus across organizational lines
* Accepts ownership, is accountable and delivers on commitments

Purpose:
Take ownership and solve facility plant problems with a focus on civil/structural/piping issues. The candidate must have a basic understanding of process engineering and piping design and be able to develop simple Construction Work Packs and stamp them. However, this position will primarily take responsibility for managing structural/civil/piping issues at an operating facility through individual contribution or by managing contracted engineering resources. While Project Engineering / Project Management skills are a requirement, preference will be given to candidates that can demonstrate that they are personally qualified to develop and issue drawings for simple repairs/alterations. Strong communication skills to interface directly between operations and engineering are required.
