The Role:
* The Quantity Surveyor (QS) will be the focal point of contact for the monitoring, tracking and reporting of the off-site fabrication and modularization progress at multiple contractors' locations in the Grande Prairie, Alberta area.
* The QS will utilize his/her expert knowledge of fabrication and modularization activities, construction rules of credit, key quantities tracking, and progress and performance measurement to ensure accurate and timely validation and reporting of project status.
* The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of the off-site fabrication and modularization activities in the heavy construction industry, including extensive experience in establishing rules of credit, earned value measurement, measuring physical progress versus plan and tracking of installed quantities on large projects ($200MM to $500MM) in the Oil & Gas sector.

Qualifications:
* PQS (Professional Quantity Surveyor) designation; active membership in CIQS (Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveying); and/or membership in AACE (Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering) is preferred.
* Working knowledge of the planning, coordination and execution of the civil, piping, mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation/Controls disciplines as implemented in the fabrication and assembly of large industrial modules and vendor packages.
* Minimum of seven years progressive experience in execution of large industrial projects, including hands-on involvement in construction site activities, ideally in a Quantity Surveying or Project Controls capacity.
* Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (a combination of other degrees coupled with adequate experience will also be considered).
* Conversant with the planning and scheduling of all aspects of off-site fabrication and assembly of modules and vendor packages.
* Prior experience managing Lump Sum and Unit Rate fabrication contracts.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Expert knowledge on managing construction costs, schedules and progress in the Oil & Gas industry.
* Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly in the development of databases and spreadsheets.
* Strong business and market acumen related to the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of all construction disciplines.
* A team-player with strong contractor management experience.
* Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem solving skills.
* Very high level of independence with demonstrated leadership and collaboration abilities.
* Ability to work with multi-disciplined teams, across multiple entities and organizations and among varied levels of educational and cultural backgrounds.
* Ability to multi-task and work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
* Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Preference will be given to candidates with a hands-on working knowledge of Primaver
