The Role:
Summary:

*CAS modeller required to maintain project deadlines for planned projects and anticipate additional demand for future programmes as defined in product lifecycle plan
*2 Main projects are variants of existing products. However there may be:
*Unplanned development work on components for projects currently going through final feasibility checks
*Other new programmes defined on the Product lifecycle plan which don't yet have approved development Plans

Main duties:

*Digital modelling using Alias/or ICEMsurf software
*Work directly with Design, Clay modelling and Studio Engineering teams to develop 3D digital model data
*Modelling will be mostly on exterior surfaces


Data will be outputted to :

*Modelling/ milling group - to machine design models and provide clay modellers with data
*Visualisation specialists - for design review
*Studio engineering - As Concept development surfaces or final production " A" class surfaces


Working with Engineering and Studio Engineering:

* Maintain regular dialogue with technical colleagues
* Propose and help support the negotiatiation of the best compromise solutions that maintain design intent whilst incorporating technical criteria .
* Working to technical criteria provided by studio engineer and to company surface standards
* Ability to undertake larger/broader tasks than typically required at larger studios with larger teams
* Ability to work to plan - Manage own time to maintain release gateways .
* Basic Office skills - Word, Excel etc
* Experience with using SHOWCASE software - preferable

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Alias software - Expert user ( 5 years Automotive )
* Concept Modelling - Ability to construct models quickly (initially from 2-D sketches ) and make frequent changes that help quickly evolve the design concept
* "A" Class surfacing - To output to engineering via Studio engineer . Developing production surfaces with appropriate crtitera and quality standards as supplied by Studio Engineer
* Empathy for design - Work with a designer, interpretting sketches, taking verbal direction and scan data from clay models ( where apprpriate) to achieve design intent
