The Role:
* Lead the concept study and establish vehicle attribute targets based on competitive benchmarking, internal requirements, quality objectives, and third party ratings.
* Track architecture and concept integration, issue resolution and verification progress in FC-process.
* Per Block: Owns FC-Process.
- At FC-3 secure planning together with the other areas.
- Follow up deliveries and secure decision on balancing.
- Continuously update FC-list.
- Secure planning together with the other areas at FC0.
- With input from Engineering and Attributes define geometrical alternative.
- Ensure that Block deliveries follow program plan and the generic Vehicle Integration Plan.
- Update the maturity according to the FC-lists, where the FC-lists contains items needed and maturity plan per item and FC-phase.
* Balance system requirements into vehicle attribute targets and associated hardware decisions.
* Develop vehicle, system and components' virtual and physical verification plan for all functions.
* Define possible master sections / setups to start detailed design in conclusion and V0 V-phases.
* Lead on DPA1 to secure the geometrical compatibility of the complete vehicle to establish whether the data is fit for purpose for downstream usage.
* Follow up the integration, issue resolution and verification progress in the feasibility, concept and styling convergence processes with the responsible PSS team.
* Ensure that all relevant geometrical conflicts and issues at complete vehicle level are solved.
* To deliver:
- 100% feasible architectures and vehicle concepts
- Architecture and platform scalability documentation
- Feasibility Checklist Scorecard
- CV-specification, Hardpoints, Architecture & Concept layouts and Concept templates
- Concept modeler
- Engine Roll model
- Gate reports
- Timeplans
* Geometric integration of Compartment components with CATIA V5, including Instrument Panel, Tunnel console, Front seat, Carpet, Pedals etc.
* Develop Compartment block layout strategy and layout solutions.
* Coordination and implementation of digital studies for vehicle packaging of Compartment, taking into account ergonomic, packaging space, homologation, tooling feasibility and critical performance, ensuring the packaging complies with legal/corporate requirements.
* Coordination and implementation of improvement measures taking into account economic, qualitative and timing aspects.
* Work with styling department for feasibility analysis of Packaging.
* Work on whole vehicle package task to realize most optimized performance, resolve compartment area package problems.
* Record and update open issue lists in time, reporting the issues that need highlighting to top and line managers and record issues solved.
* Make Peer Review reports on key milestones & gates.
* Ensure high quality delivery on time every time.
* Study all aspects of overall vehicle architecture development.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* University degree qualified (Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience)
* 10 Years + experience in automotive R&D
* 5 Years + experience in 1st Vehicle Integration
* Comprehensive knowledge of automotive product development processes including participation in several complete development loops/programmes.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Vehicle Integration requirements, methods, tools and processes.
* Capable of coaching engineers in the geometry and mechanical integration process.
* Capable and experienced in leading Vehicle Integration tasks with several participants.
* Comprehensive complete vehicle knowledge.
* Capable of delivering high quality CAD proposals/solutions on a regular basis.
* Capacity to work well in a team to resolve issues.
* Strong communication skills.
* Understanding of different methods to resolve issues.
* Capable of reporting and assessing to a professional level.
* Self-disciplined
* Highly organised.
* Able to build strong professional relationships.
* Able to adapt and learn quickly.
* Profesisonal, friendly and enthusiastic with mentor potential.
* Highly motivated and keen to take on challenges.
