The Role:
Job Summary:

- Support operations by ensuring equipment runs at optimum level.
- Ensuring process equipment works within specified tolerances.
- Modify and programme equipment / systems to enable introduction of new variants / products.

Duties include;

- Preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
- Responding to emergency machine break downs throughout the plant, installation and movement of existing machines
- Overhaul and repair of machines and equipment
- Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose
- Development of maintenance, repair procedures and TPM schedules and regimes

Day shift working initially but must be prepared to work overtime and respond to call outs as required in line with remit of the post.

Job Responsibilities:

* Design, promote and carry out preventative maintenance
* Repair production equipment, fixing faults and investigations relating to machine faults
* Keeping a level of tidiness and house keeping in the maintenance workshop and maintenance work areas around site
* Ensure all machines are safe and fit for purpose
* Coordinate & support installation of new machines and equipment, when necessary
* Overhaul, upkeep and repair of all plant machines
* Electrical installation
* Review and Advice on engineering requirement
* Work with and coordinate contractors
* Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standards in accordance with work requests and pre-determined specifications
* Fault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts
* Where a detailed specification is not provided determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost effective solution to remedy the defect
* Any other duties that may be required to commensurate with the post
* Develop, monitor and enhance the Maintenance systems & procedures and plan enhancement
* Ability to plan maintenance activities, write procedures
* Knowledge and awareness of legal requirements related to COSHH, H&S etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- City & Guilds Full Cert / BTEC in Mechanical/ Process Engineering/ Electrical / Electronics.
- Completion of time served Engineering apprenticeship.
- Trained to 17th Edition wiring regulations.
- Experience of 24/7 continuous batch production environment, related to processing industry in chemical, coating or food industry
- Analytical, flexible, adaptable, able to prioritise
- Good practical and technical skills
- An awareness of health & safety legislation.
- Ability to engage with colleagues and mentor/ coach/ teach others
- Experience in a maintenance role in 24/7 continuous batch production environments related to process manufacturing in the chemical, coating or food industries.
- Must be a good team player, able to work unsupervised and on own initiative, calm and ordered in crisis Honest, trustworthy, able to communicate well with others
- Good practical and technical skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree/HND qualified or equivalent with at least 5 years' experience in maintenance role.
- Knowledge of chemical engineering industry.
- Several years hands on experience of anodising plants and related equipment
- Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts optimal effort in successfully completing tasks
- Experience and ability to demonstrate management/ development of others
- Experience of Environmental Agency requirements and anodising plants, coating all related to the automotive industry
- Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative
- Ability to fault find & debug related to the plant equipment
