The Role:
The purpose of this role is to create and communicate to suppliers: component requirements for all models produced .Monitor & expedite those suppliers in accordance with production requirements whilst maintaining inventory levels. Ensuring adequate information interchange & interaction with other supply chain & production areas and optimising logistics routes/costs.

Main duties of the role include:

To update & maintain all relevant system requirements pertaining to the role and use those systems to create accurate supplier schedules

To ensure component requirements are correct and communicated to suppliers in a timely, professional manner

To understand and implement any MRP generated 'messages' and amend supplier schedules accordingly

To ensure inventory levels of components under individual control are in alignment with departmental objectives

To ensure adequate information interchange and interaction with other Supply Chain and Production areas

To ensure all activities undertaken are in line with current policies and procedures

To ensure external logistics costs are optimised using normal transportation methods

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Diploma or equivalent, preferably with CIPS qualification.

PC literate with current MS office suite

Experience in Material Control in a manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge of MRP systems

Good communication, ability to work under pressure, resourceful and flexible
