The Role:
Co-ordination and technical guidance of the Powertrain Release Team

* Component and system release from concept throughout production

* Maintain the liaison with suppliers, initiating and monitoring their agreed work plans and schedules.

* Issue of the Design Concept Sheets (DCS) for Powertrain components or systems

* Coordinate resolution of component concern issues

* Coordinate component and sub system DFMEA and DFM/DFA.

* Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

* Coordinate Purchasing, Design, Development & Validation activities

Workload planning and allocation of the Release Team personnel to support projects.

Planning and tracking release of components onto BOM structure and MPPDM (internal system)

Development of the individuals within the Release Team through training and career progression opportunities.

Technical and commercial support to Sales and Marketing, and the Project group, which includes the input to, and preparation of Powertrain proposals, and supporting promotional activities to potential clients etc.

Technical direction and preparation of appropriate technical documentation to support understanding and development of future technologies and process improvements.

Representation of Powertrain at the highest level both internally and externally (e.g., clients, conferences, shows).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Mechinical Engineering Degree / HNC Qualification
*Technical experience within automotive OEM in powertrain design, development or testing
*Strong experience and CATIA v5 or above
*Specific experience packaging powertrain systems or transmissions
