The Role:
Lead body electrical system technical development for the project.

*Lead the engineering, development and integration of body electrical systems into the overall vehicle electrical architecture.
*Realisation the technical deliverables of the body electrical system using a combination of carry-over, modified and new components in collaboration with other function groups and our OEM partner.
*Approve functional and installation status of control units and peripherals in accordance with feature, installation and wiring requirements.
*Ensure compliance with any necessary environmental and EMC requirements.
*Work closely with other function groups in order to ensure that all wired parts are compatible with the electrical architecture and are fit for purpose.
*Lead system review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, ISO26262 functional safety, EMC and functionality tests throughout the development lifecycle.
*Fault identification and resolution including management of issues to closure.
*Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination including support for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
*Provision of support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments including development of service procedures and diagnostic functionality.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Expert understanding of electrical architectures, electrical peripherals, CAN/FlexRay/LIN networks, wiring and diagnostic technologies.
- Proven signifiant track record of system/component design and delivery within an automotive/aerospace/telecommunications or similar engineering environment.
- Articulate, self-motivated and able to work well on own initiative. Good communicator and negotiator.
- Team leadership skills are essential.
- Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc.).
