The Role:
*To provide strategic supplier quality direction and guidance for new programmes ensuring programmes achieve quality, cost and timing targets.
*To manage a team of SQ Engineers delivering quality assured parts through development, prototype, pre-production and production phases.
*This role offers the opportunity to demonstrate business improvement and measurable change through all phases of new car and facelift programmes thereby improving product quality and customer satisfaction.
*This role will lead a team working on project related supplier quality related activities.
*To deliver visible and measurable improvement of the supplier base worldwide by implementing best practice automotive quality and supply chain strategies.
*This will involve close liaison with the parent company and other companies within the group, building those relationships.
*Manage and lead programme SQ engineering team ensuring the correct resource is allocated and prioritised.
*Create activity plans and KPIs for the team, setting objectives, reviewing performance and developing competence.
*Manage PPAP, APQP, Concern resolution relating to supplied parts thorough all project phases.
*Produce regular reports including action plans for senior management.
*Manage, plan and carry out supplier assessments to support new programmes.
*Develop and agree supplier development activity plan to ensure PPM / Quality improvements targets are achieved.
*New part Introduction and supplier preparation, develop PPAP activity plan for new projects.
*Ensure all supplier visits are completed to process and any actions are taken to closure.
*Report approval status at project reviews and gateways including key issues resolution plans.
*Supplier Sourcing, interface with Purchasing Management to ensure consistent sourcing direction and consensus.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Degree level or similar in a related discipline.
*Broad understanding of manufacturing processes related to automotive production.
*Technically aware and capable of interpreting manufacturing processes.
*Automotive OEM or 1st Tier Automotive supplier in a management role.
*Effective leadership and communication skills. Analytical with an attention to detail. Results focused.
*Full driving licence and a willingness to travel worldwide at short notice.
