The Role:
Due to a period of rapid growth, we are recruiting for a number of skilled procurement/ purchasing professionals across varying commodity groups. We are particularly interested in speaking to Senior Buyers with Electronic/Electrical, Body, Interiors, Chassis, Powertrain and Whole vehicle purchasing experience within an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier capacity.

Job summary:

The primary purpose is to ensure delivery on time, to the right quality at the right cost all materials within the responsibility of the given commodity. This is to be done through strategic supplier selection, supplier resourcing, cost down, total cost optimisation and supplier development through quality and delivery improvements. The secondary purpose is to motivate and develop direct reports to achieve best practice in terms of supply chain management whilst influencing the wider business in support of Company Key Goals.

This position will report directly to the Purchasing Manager and will have a number of direct reports. Crucial to the success of this role is the development and implementation of supply chain strategies that effectively use the resources available.

Role responsibilities:

* Leading supplier development, material control and any other functions required to resolve supply chain issues and implement strategic goals
* Development of functions to support the company's key goals and strategies
* Spend authorised limits pertinent to the role as described within the Group limits of authority
* Sign orders on behalf of the company


This role requires sufficient flexibility to change role within Purchasing to work at the same level with different areas of responsibility. This position will also include overseas travel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with CIPS qualification
*Extensive Procurement experience within an Automotive / manufacturing environment
*Broad spectrum of negotiation experience
*Previous management experience
*Results focussed, motivational leader

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
*Qualified with an MBA, Masters in Supply Chain or equivalent
*Management experience gained within the Automotive Industry
