The Role:
*Develop and implementation of engineering processes to support project and departmental objectives.

*Adaptable to support all area of the departments activities outside of main areas of technical expertise as and when required.

Technical Responsibilities:

*Schedule, supervise and carry out vehicle or testbed orientated development and work as required to support calibration and control system development of a Dual Clutch Transmission through to production
*Investigate and resolve issues relating to DCT transmission control and calibration.
*Support specification and development of controls interface between transmission, powertrain and other vehicle control systems.
*Provide input into FMEA, functional safety and diagnostic requirements for DCT and control interface with other vehicle systems
*Liaise with subsystem supplier for DCT in relation to controls/calibration activities.
*Provide control system support for vehicle integration and prototype vehicle build/development and tests involving other departments.
*Prepare for and attend offsite testing and climatic test trips when required.
*Develop solutions relating to the integration of powertrain control systems within the whole vehicle electrical architecture.
*Assist members of the department in their introduction to unfamiliar hardware and development procedures.
*Preparation of Powertrain technical documentation including reports and presentation material.
*Support manufacturing and after-sales departments with issues relating to powertrain controls and integration.
*Support the department with activities relating to all aspects of engine and transmission control and diagnostics as and when required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Engineering degree / HNC or equivalent experience
*Calibration or control strategy development of automotive Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) control, clutch/torque control, on board diagnostics & safety monitoring
*Familiarity with calibration development tools and techniques and interpreting functional specifications
*Proficient IT user of Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint
*Ability to liaise at all levels
