The Role:
Purpose of role:
The Product Planning Manager is responsible for translating the high-level requirements of our clients' corporate strategy into detailed product lifecycle management strategies. The role encompasses responsibility for proposing and communicating specification, feature content, USPs, volume and pricing of current and future products, based upon input from key stakeholders and through comprehensive market research and analysis of the competitive landscape. Product, and specifically new vehicles, is at the centre of our clients exciting ten year strategic vision. The successful applicant will play a key role in shaping and implementing our clients' product strategy on a global level.

* Translating the requirements of our clients corporate strategy into compelling lifecycle management strategies for existing and future products
* Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Marketing and other teams in accordance with the company's project gateway process, to deliver products that align with the company's strategic vision and meet market needs
* Developing a vision and roadmap for Lotus' product portfolio based on input from key internal stakeholders, customers and market analysis
* Defining the required level of specification and feature content for current and future vehicles, based on competitor specification analysis
* Conducting global market research activity to inform future product decisions; communicating with key internal stakeholders accordingly
* Constructing comprehensive business cases for current and future products, factoring in market-driven volume, price and cost parameters
* Identifying the key benefits and feature content of current and future products, to assist the Sales, Marketing and Public Relations teams in communicating the USPs and core feature content of the respective products

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree qualified, ideally business or engineering disciplines
* A combination of commercial and technical knowledge, combined with a genuine passion for automotive
* Strong interpersonal abilities, effective written and verbal communicator
* Pragmatic approach and results driven
