The Role:
Our client Ltd is currently seeking a Team Leader Methodology for our brand-new advanced research Technical Centre in Coventry. Our engineers work with leading edge tools and technologies to develop world class products. We develop our people to be experts in both the underlying powertrain technologies and the tools that enable their development. Your responsibilities:
*Robust planning, co-ordination and control of work & team activities
*Development and leadership of the methodology team
*Responsible for test work carried out on all test beds
*Coordinate test-bed software setup with the engineers
*Analyse and report test results using software tools such as AVL Concerto
*Manage delivery of test results and present them in customer meetings
*Produce and maintain skeleton plans using agreed templates and synthetics, linked to output and KPIs
*Produce task review checklist and communicates the outcome
*Produce Master Data and Assumptions List (MDAL)
*Ensure exploitation of Review-Learn-Improve (RLI)
*Research, communicate and implement best practice test methods that improve data quality and test field efficiency
*Act as subject matter expert on using DoE tools such as AVL Cameo
*Train staff in test automation and best practice methods (Online and Offline Cameo)
*Central liaison between Emission, Engine Calibration, P&E Development, and Engine Durability for test automation design and development
*Recommend test automation software upgrades when features become worthwhile
*Select the most appropriate methodologies to deploy on specific test cases/programmes
*Responsible for sign off activities for new test facilities/equipment as fit for purpose
*Control standards test library and supply test automation solutions for internal customers
*Write and maintain currency of required process documentation
*Troubleshoot ECU/Calibration problems using calibration tools such as INCA/ATI Vision
*Develop and prototype innovative new powertrain testing methods using tools and processes
*Work closely with strategic partners to drive development
*Acts as a focal point for test automation support and advice
*Promote the clients technical expertise through publications and workshops
*Lead and advise Test and Automation Methodology Engineers
*Help in the recruitment of engineers, offer technical guidance and aid employee development and training
*You may be required to do other work within your capability which the company may require from time to time

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Educated to Master's degree or Ph.D. level in a relevant engineering area (mechanical, automotive, electrical)
*Proven leadership skills
*Knowledge of mathematical modelling and optimisation methods, Matlab-Simulink
*Experience in powertrain, engine, transmission and driveline control systems
*Experience with data analysis tools (Matlab, INCA, MDA etc.), and network analysis tools (CANalyzer etc.)
*Experienced in test automation systems and test authoring
*Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and powertrain architecture
*Team player with the ability to work independently when required with a flexible and innovative approach
*Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
*Excellent communication skills
*Willing and able to travel
