The Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Horizontal Directional Drilling Technical Sales Representative based on either Sydney or Melbourne to start immediately in a full-time permanent position. This position is responsible for providing technical and sales services to the HDD, Mining, Water Well and Civil Construction Industry across Australia. This role mostly will be office and client office but will require to go to rig site for short time to see the project that you handle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Develop sales strategy to ensure direct customer contact within Australia to generate new business and increase revenue
* Develop and maintain long term customer relationships
* Identify and work with key distributor to increase sales opportunities
* Develop and maintain contact with key decision-makers within customer base
* Assist with the development and testing of new HDD, Mining & Water well product line
* Provide technical information and training to clients as required
* Support sales function through providing on-site customer demonstrations
* Review project information and customer requirements to recommend optimum fluids solutions
* Complete lab analysis requests and interpret results, and project fluid programs and consumption estimations
* Run M-I SWACO Virtual Hydraulics software for project planning and optimization
* Complete hydro-fracture analysis for critical projects as required by the client.
* Maintain knowledge of current and new products through interaction with engineering and management
* Prepare sales or service presentations for products or services.
* Frequent travel within assigned region on a regular basis to meet customers and visit customer projects
* Comply with all Company's Standards and maintain QHSE reporting

Our client is a world leading oil field services company with offices across Australia. Our client works with some of the world's leading operating clients and provide world class services to the oil industry.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* College or technical school degree preferred with circa three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience with drilling fluids.
* Familiarity with HDD and underground technology industries.
* Experience calling on HDD contractors and Distributors preferred.
* Familiarity with some or all of M-I SWACO products, equipment, software, and services.
* Proficient oral and written communication skills.
* Self-motivator, self-starter.
* Microsoft Office competency.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge of common HDD rigs (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, American Augurs, Universal, etc.) preferred
