The Role:
The largest Oil Field Services provider, our client is expanding their Country Management Team for a Legal Counsel with the integral responsibility of managing and handling resolution on all legal matters in the Country. Reporting to the Far East and Australia Geomarket Legal Counsel, this corporate contractual and compliance position provides you with the opportunity to be a part of this global conglomerate on a permanent basis. In addition to providing overall legal advice to Country Management and actively involved in Country business plans, growth strategies your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Liaising with the Country Contracts team, regarding your responsibilities of handling commercial contracts and contract disputes.
  • Manage and supervise Outside Counsel in relation to litigation strategies and resolution in coordination with the Geomarket Legal Counsel.
  • Ensure that Legal department is aware of any potential areas of legal exposure.
  • Ensure all Country operational and business activities are compliant with local laws and regulations.
  • Undertake operational assurance reviews and coordinate with internal auditors regarding legal aspects.
  • Ensure integrity of the company corporate structure and the Country's entities and records.
  • Implement and draft Country specific procedures and maintains content of the Country Legal webpage.
  • Actively involved in the deployment and implementation of legal department strategic initiatives.

Ideal skills and Qualifications you will posess:
Legally qualified in Australia with ideal experience post qualification in a law firm or multi-national corporate environment with preferable O&G industry. Preferable proven experience in handling compliance work, e.g. compliance training, auditing and allegation investigations,.
