The Role:
Our client is looking for a Purchasing Officer to provide value for money procurement activities. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Team Leader, you will provide assistance and support to the rigs to achieve effective and efficient operational excellence. This role is based in Toowoomba.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
* Providing support to the procurement coordinator and ensuring accurate information and reporting activities are current.
* Ability to find, acquire and negotiate high quality goods and services that are the most effective package for our clients and internal customers (Effective being the functionality, quality, price and terms).
* Maintaining the procurement system including, purchase records, data and price.
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proactively expedite purchase orders to ensure on time delivery.
* Proactively manage claims for Supplier's goods and services that are considered incorrect, defective and/or damaged prior to receipt.
* Coordinate the delivery of emergency requirements from start to finish.
* Manage the inventory levels with a timely manner.
* Conducting RFI/Q/P (Request for Information/Quotation/information/Proposal).
* Identify opportunities to continually improve processes to reduce wasted resources.
* Other ad hoc responsibilities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* ORACLE trained and experience is preferable.
* Ideally 2 + years' experience in Procurement and logistics
* Degree qualified in relevant field or equivalent experience
* Able to work automously and in a team
* Cost conscious and dedicated to process improvement
* Able to analyse procurement trends and implement strategy
* Strong computer skills are essential (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
