The Role:
Our client is currently seeking a Team Leader Operations for our brand-new advanced research Technical Centre in Coventry. Our engineers work with leading edge tools and technologies to develop world class products. We develop our people to be experts in both the underlying powertrain technologies and the tools that enable their development. Your responsibilities:
*To provide technical and supervisory leadership to the test factory operators/technicians in order to meet and exceed productive output targets
*To lead resolution and implementation of solutions to resource facility and data quality issues, including planning
*To manage H&S, TPM, team budget, training and development requirements
*To identify inefficiencies in current process and deliver improvements
*To produce and publish processes for team and customer interface
*To support testing status, utilisation and planning meetings
*To facilitate apprentice, new starter and existing team member development within the team
*To ensure processes are followed and maintained ensuring high quality and customer value
*Assume full operational responsibility e.g. planning of resources, testbed dispositioning, distribution of testing tasks, interface with other departments and scheduling of maintenance/services.
*Ensure customer engine test programs are completed with high levels of efficiency
*Develop best working practices and provide training to others when needed
*Supervise & monitor day-to-day test bed operations and identify areas for improvement
*You may be required to do other work within your capability which the company may require from time to time

Your profile:

Essential:
*Qualification in leadership and management
*Proven leadership and workload management experience
*Proven ability to plan effectively and achieve quality results
*A problem-solver with proven experience and structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment
*Detailed knowledge of company Health and Safety requirements, including Risk Assessment, COSHH and MSDS
*Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and SPL documents
*Experience in a testing environment, with a knowledge of measurement technology and facility requirements
*Background in quality standards and audit processes
*Team player with the ability to work independently when required with a flexible and innovative approach
*Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
*Excellent communication skills
*Willing and able to travel

Preferable:
*Experience in an automotive test environment and understanding of complex testing techniques in engine or vehicle test facilities
