The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to provide independent risk analysis, and implement processes to support the approved risk appetite, strategies and compliance requirements of the company's Energy Markets business. This role will support the Energy Risk Manager.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Model market, credit and operational risks to aid measurement of portfolio exposures
- Work to streamline reporting capability from embedded systems such as the Trading platform
- Provide energy risk reporting
- Provide compliance support for internal and external requirements
- Monitor and capture sales data flows and check daily commodity contract allocations
- Aid the design and testing of new risk management systems and reporting tools

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in finance, economics, mathematics or other quantitative discipline
- Significant Australian energy markets experience
- Knowledge and/or experience in trading and risk management systems, processes and procedures
- High aptitude to statistical analysis and a very high level of computer literacy and mathematical programming development experience
- Strong IT background (Visual Basic, SQL, MATLAB)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
- Post graduate qualifications in a quantitative field
- Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA) accreditation
- Attention to detail
- Quality focus
- Ability to liaise with all level of staff
- High level influencing skills
- Ability to demonstrate leadership
