The Role:
As the sole Internal Communications Officer for the UK office, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving all internal communications activities, implementing and delivering a robust communication plan and for co-coordinating communication with the France office.

During the second half of 2017, we will undergo a number of organisational changes, including the creation of integrated plateau working and its transition into a new engineering organisation. This new organisation will design and build nuclear islands for power plants. The postholder will play a significant part in ensuring that these organisational changes are effectively communicated and disseminated across all relevant stakeholders.

Main activities:

Detailed responsibilities will be defined through the development of the communication plan and the communication strategy but are likely to include:

- Management of internal communications
- Ensuring communications are managed appropriately and in a timely manner
- Organising and facilitating branch meetings
- Organising and managing internal conferences and training to provide guidance to the staff on technical and non-technical topics
- Organising internal events and social events to promote cohesion within the organisation
- Design/production of graphics (TV screens, newsletters, branding etc.)
- Production/editing of a monthly newsletter
- Production/editing of specific news items
- Managing and operating digital content on Linkedin and Facebook accounts
- Creating and leading content: poster campaigns, guidance, TV screens, Organisation Charts, PowerPoint presentations
- Support to team briefing sessions and HR activities

- Co-ordination of communication with the France office
- Primary point of contact with the France Communications Officer
- Translating, editing, rewriting of English versions of French communications
- Co-ordinated distribution of communication materials across the entities

- Co-ordination of communication of organisational changes
- Primary interface with the newly established Communications team
- Roll out of communication initiatives within the UK
- Communication of change management guidance to support the planned organisational change

* Co-ordination of communications with external stakeholders
- Establishing and maintaining a communications link with the Project
- Support to the UK Director and Management team for external presentations

* Communications guidance and support to specific projects
- Communication of Nuclear Safety information
- Communication of UK Context activities

The Company:
Our client has a long history in supplying specialised components, systems and services to the civil nuclear industry. They have designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied custom equipment for both new build projects and operations reactors around the world for more than 40 years.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Training & Experiences: Experience of delivering/supporting a multi-strand, multi-media communications strategy. Knowledge of the Hinkley Point C Project/ nuclear industry and experience of Communications in a technical engineering environment would be advantageous
Technical skills: Candidates should hold or be working towards a qualification in Communications / Journalism.
Software and tools: MS Office, Outlook, Social media (Linkedin and Facebook), Wordpress
Language(s): Excellent written and spoken English language skills. Knowledge of French would be advantageous
Personal capacity: Self motivated, autonomous approach, creative with hands on, can do attitude. Willing to take the initiative. Must be approachable and able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
