The Role:
The Equipment Engineer is the "Technical Lead" within the "Responsible Designer" for Turnkey Contracts related to the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Commissioning (DMIC) of the Solid Radwaste Treatment System for the UK EPR projects

The Technical Lead works alongside the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) within a dedicated team for the technical management of turnkey engineering procurement contracts.

The Technical Lead is responsible for:
* Assisting with managing the resolution of contractor technical queries,
* Assisting with leading weekly / monthly progress meetings with the contractor and client,
* Assisting with managing interfaces between the Contractors equipment within the scope of supply and interfacing systems, contracts and buildings,
* Assisting with managing and ensuring contractor progress against the project schedule,
* Working collaboratively with the contractor, the client and all other stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure the successful delivery of the contract,
* Assisting with the preparation of the annual surveillance report,
* Assisting with the tracking of deliverables,
* Assisting with the management and tracking of design risks,
* Participation to Basic / Detailed design reviews,
* Participating and coordinating the surveillance of contractor deliverables against the contract specifications, which includes review of Design Risk Register, Contractors Programme, Quality Plans, Risk Analysis / FMEA, Mechanical drawings, Instrumentation / Control documentation.
* Reporting to the client to validate the release of payment milestones,
* Managing the evolution of the plant design against the contract technical specification,
* Recording and sharing lessons learnt from everyday activities for the benefit of others on the project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Engineer with 5 to 7 years' experience
* A bachelor / master's degree in a related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Process),
* Experience in design / manufacture of mechanical handling equipment (trolley systems, lifting equipment etc.) including the review of manufacturing documentation.
* Good experience in a relevant industry, such as waste processing plant (preferably nuclear), power plant design / operations (preferably nuclear), EPC contract management (preferably FIDIC), Oil & gas / chemical processing,
* Confident presenting skills
* Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements (CDM, COSHH, IRR, Environmental Permitting, etc.)
* Experience with British / ISO standards and other design codes.
* Mechanical, Electrical and C&I is advantageous
