The Role:
Controls Engineer (Position #732)

The Controls Engineer focuses on the development of the Control System engineering and procurement activities performed by the EPC Contractor and supported by the MICC during Detailed Design. The position stewards the detailed design, procurement and installation of the control systems and ensures that the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Technical Specifications, for all control systems engineering are carried out faithfully, and in a timely fashion. The role also stewards control/safety system engineering aspects of the Project with other discipline leads on the PMT, as necessary.

The role is characterized by:

* Reviews Contractor Deliverables and is responsible for providing and coordinating Company comments for the Control System scope
* Ensures that the Control Systems are engineered and designed consistent with the Job Specification and Regulatory requirements

Responsibilities of the Area Lead Automation shall include the following:

* Coordinates the review of all Contractor deliverables related to the Engineering and Procurement of the Control Systems
* Reviews Contractor engineering and procurement deliverables associated with the Control Systems
* Ensures vendor packages meet the Project requirements for system integration and control functions
* Works with the E&R Group to ensures compliance with all FERC permits/requirements
* Participate in I&C technical specification preparation and Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOP)
* Participate in packaged equipment related FAT's (eg. Metering packages, etc.) as required
* Provide support to site construction and completions teams
* Provide support to operations during start-up
* Manage instrumentation and controls related lessons learned for the project


* Broad and extensive knowledge of:
 Design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
 ExxonMobil practices, processes, and expectations with respect to I&C engineering
* Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering
* 5+ years of closely related professional experience, 2+ years of which should be at the project engineering level
* Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
