The Role:
Location: Joliet, IL (client will not pay for relocation)
Contract: 9 months renewable

- Role will be needed primarily as a contracted material expediter for critical long lead equipment for Joliet 2021 TA.
- We suspect the assignment to be needed through 2021, with added hours / OT available in 1Q21, during the TA period.
- This individual will interface with the key material suppliers, the TA planning organization, and Procurement.
- Should be able to learn to navigate SAP after some training and must be decent with Excel and have solid organizational skills.
- Prior experience in contracts management, expediting, negotiations would be valuable.
- Individual does not require 20+ years of experience to fulfil role as taxonomy specifies.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Materials Lead manages and expedites flow of materials, equipment, parts, and assemblies between internal and external departments and sites, according to delivery and shipping schedules and project priorities, and compiles and maintains computerized records.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to all Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2: Manages requisitions for materials and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications
- Arranges transfer of materials to meet delivery schedules and ensures accurate record-keeping.
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders, applying knowledge of industry processes.
- Oversees and ensures the compilation and maintenance manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, delivery, shipping and storage reports, and status and location of materials.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 20+ years of closely related professional experience preferably in materials management
- Bachelors" or Master"s degree required - General knowledge of industry equipment and materials with ability to positively identify components.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP material catalogs and search tools
- Extensive knowledge of how and where materials are used in the plant
- Work experience in Oil and Gas industry - Advanced time management skills
- Excellent problem solving skills - Advanced written and oral communications skills
- Influencing with and without authority - Organization skills
