The Role:
MAIN FUNCTIONS
The Steam and Utilities Engineer is responsible for providing steam system and overall utilities system expertise to the project engineering team during the execution of Detailed Design to ensure an integrated Facilities design that meets the project's defined safety, quality, and operability requirements. The role is characterized by:

* Ensures the Steam System and Utility Designs meet Project requirements for overall performance and operability
* Reviews Contractor Deliverables and is responsible for providing and coordinating Company comments within the Steam and Utilities overall system design for the Project-wide Area
* Reviews the equipmnet design, specifications and procurement activities to ensure compliance with the Job Specificaitons, contractual requirements, and all regulatory requirements



TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the Steam and Utilities Engineer shall include the following:

* Responsible for overall steam system design for the project-wide scope nsuring that the design is safe, operable and meets all project requirements
* Closely coordinates with the other mechanical discipline engineers (Fired Euipment, Static Equipment and Piping) to ensure the design and equipment selection meets project requirements
* Reviews and provides endorsement for specifications, engineering requisitions, purchase orders and specification deviations, as required, to ensure compliance with Technical Specifications and best practices
* Identifies opportunities for reliability improvement and life cycle cost optimization of steam and utility system design
* Directs deployment of mechanical discipline personnel and CSC resources as required to perform inspections, FAT, etc.
* Review P&ID drawings and control systems for safe and operable equipment features as required
* Participate in HAZOP and other overall safety reviews and provide input for the steam and utility system design to Risk Management activities as appropriate
* Works with the E&R Group to ensures compliance with all FERC permits/requirements and code compliance
* Steward supplier execution of steam system equipment orders including compliance with specification, quality control, testing, transport, installation and startup support.
* Participate with EPC contractor in resolution of equipment installation and commissioning problems and discrepancies ensuring the resolution complies with specifications and meets functional and safety objectives.
* Compilation and handover of documentation for operations (DFO) and resolution of carryover work activities



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Broad and extensive knowledge of:
 Design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
 ExxonMobil practices, processes, and expectations with respect to steam system engineering
* Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering
* 20+ years of closely related professional experience, 10+ years of which should be at a large downstream facility incorporating a large integrated steam system
* Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
