The Role:
Position Title: Training Assistant
Reports To: Regulatory Affairs & Technical Program Manager
Work Location: Houston (with potential travel to GOM or Alaska)
Location: Houston, TX downtown (client will not pay for parking)
Contract: 12 months

General Description:
This position provides assistance and coordination of the corporate training program, including: training data entry, user profile development, training plan development, training matrix reviews, quality assurance of training records, training process/procedure implementation, training report development, coordination of internal/external training logistics.

Specific Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
* Schedule training courses as required by company.
* Entry of training rosters or other training data into the Learning Management System.
* Prepare training reports and tracks required training courses as requested.
* Provide periodic review of training matrices and implements procedures to standardize that review, including assurance that required refresher training courses are planned and communicated to applicable personnel.
* Participate and support audit/review of training functions
* Focal point for all training related MOC issues to be resolved and closed.
* Develop a thorough knowledge of training specifications, especially those areas affecting HSE and field personnel competencies.
* Schedule internal and external training courses for personnel in line with requirements set out in appraisals, competency matrices and on the job requirements.
* Review training material for OSHA required classes.
* Assigns Computer-Based Training (CBT) to end-users.
* Develop and execute continuous improvement exercises that provide feedback to software developers for software upgrades.

* Experience with processes and systems within discipline area of training or learning and development
* Proven advanced up-to-date computer skills
* Proven advanced written and verbal communication skills
* Performance based training design, delivery and assessment experience
* Project management experience
* Knowledge of computer based training development tools and practices
* Process and procedure writing and redesign
* Process assessment experience
* Invoice review experience
* Training systems experience
* Experience supporting remote locations on systems and processes
* Database development and maintenance experience
* North Slope field experience

Accountabilities & Specific Requirements
* Assist the Training Coordinator(s) in the development of training plans & processes.
* Managing the provision of external/internal training to ensure the quality and standard of training is delivered.
* Maintaining an effective and professional working relationship with the vendors.

Minimum Job Requirements:
* Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and related applications. Should be able to create tables, queries, reports and work within excel competently.
* High School diploma or GED equivalency
* Five (5) years of training experience
* Demonstrated high level of communication with diverse groups
* Ability to work in a self-motivated environment while reporting to a remote manager
* Ability for 5% travel to Gulf of Mexico and Alaska assets
* Ability to work well with others at various levels within the client organization
* Presentation skills to train users on software
