The Role:
THIS ROLE WILL BE BASED WORKING REMOTELY FROM HOME



As Senior Engineer you will take responsibility for product design at the sub system level (eg PCB's, mechanical assemblies, complete software functional areas etc) aand provide input to the architectural level.

They will be capable of designing multiple interacting aspects of a module or product.

A Senior engineer will take overall responsibility for design of the modules to specification, chairing reviews and ensuring quality and on time delivery within budget.

A Senior engineer will be competent in a broad range of technical skills and be a major contributor at review meetings. They should be capable working without supervision.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

You will have specific experience in specific areas of the product development or technology and assist engineers, and be able to use complex techniques

Provide input into architecture design and take responsibility for sub system design, and resolve problems

Provide support to the validation phase of development and validation department

Writing and convening reviews of functional specifications

Manage the release of products into validation and for sale


Take responsibility for development tools/ or negotiations related to bought in parts, products or tools that support the design

Have knowledge and interpretation of compliance

Create and manage project plans and budgets using appropriate tools and methods eg Clarity, Scrum and Sprints

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of Pro-E - Creo, Pro sheet Metal and E-Cad
A good understanding of the principles of plastic moulding (thermoset and thermoplastic) and reasoned choice of materials
Principles of designing for die casting (aluminium, zinc and magnesium) and reasoned choice of materials

Principles of designing for sheet metal (CNC and progression tooling), rubber moulding, die cut and machined parts
Design for EMC and Thermal compliance
Thermal analysis
Mouldflow
IPS Standards and testing, Safety and EMC standards
Mechanical Validation testing (Vibration, shock, drop testing
Pro Mechanica
Understanding of tool design and working with industrial designers to achieve Ergonomic and Aesthetically pleasing designs

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in relevant discipline
