The Role:
The successful candidate will assume a key role in supporting the ongoing continuous improvement activities and performance metrics to support the effective and efficient delivery of the Indigenous Relations Program across the geographies where client operates. The candidate will support delivery of key Governance activities related to risk assessment and management, assurance, and monitoring of emerging issues and trends related to Indigenous peoples. The candidate will take day-to-day direction from the IR Governance Team Lead.

IR Governance Analyst
Core Responsibilities:
* Assist with maintenance of IR governing documents to support delivery of the IR program;
* Manage IR process improvement requests;
* Support IR risk assessment and management;
* Contribute to IR assurance activities;
* Monitor legal, regulatory and social landscapes, and emerging trends relating to Indigenous peoples at local, regional, and national level to inform IR practices and strategic planning;
* Familiarity with UNDRIP, Equator Principles, ILO 169 and relevant global initiatives regarding Indigenous peoples an asset;
* Prepare presentations and briefs on strategic issues;
* Support operational performance tracking to support continuous improvement;
* Provide ongoing support to IR business initiatives and projects, as required.

Qualifications:
* Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
* Strong understanding of risk assessment, assurance, systems, business processes and implementation;
* Excellent communication, written and oral, and presentation skills;
* Strong planning and organizational skills;
* Clear understanding of Indigenous engagement across the lifecycle of pipeline and power business activities;
* Excellent inter-cultural skills;
* Ability to work independently and take a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution;
* Ability to work in a team environment and collaboratively with internal stakeholders and business units.
Education /Experience:
* A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited university in a relevant area of study;
* Four to six years of progressive experience in process and system development, business planning, and project management;
* Working knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and rights across jurisdictions;
* Experience and strong working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite 365, SharePoint, and Visio.
