The Role:
* This position will require overnight travel to meet with Indigenous communities and businesses (frequently over 50% of the time).
* This position requires candidates to have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review.
* This position requires candidates to travel to Canada for meetings with Calgary-based colleagues. A valid passport /documentation is required for cross national border travel.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Indigenous Relations (IR), U.S. and Governance, this position is responsible for implementing the Native American Relations Policy, IR Strategy and corporate strategies with regards to Indigenous Relations Engagement, Indigenous Relations Business Engagement, and access to land. The individual will take day-to-day direction from the IRBE Team Lead to execute their work. The successful candidate will have extensive technical procurement/supply chain knowledge and experience coupled with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with Indigenous (Tribal) groups and businesses. A thorough understanding of pipeline construction would be an asset.

Responsibilities
· Engage with Tribal Nations and Tribal businesses to support delivery of Indigenous Relations Business Engagement; · Identify local Tribal Band-owned and Tribal member-owned businesses to determine capacity and interest to participate in client's business activities and match this with the Company's business needs, while working collaboratively with business units/project teams and colleagues; · Provide subject matter guidance to business units/project teams working in, or near, Tribal traditional territories or communities; · Review, support, and monitor client's contractor performance related to Indigenous participation, in collaboration with business units/project teams; · Provide ongoing management of Indigenous vendor database for use on current and upcoming projects; · Support the development of and updating of communication materials for Tribal communities and contractors related to Indigenous Relations Business Engagement; and · Other duties as required.

Requirements
· Post-secondary degree in Community Development, Business Administration /Commerce, Political Science, Archaeology, or related discipline; · Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, including:
o Experience working in supply chain/ procurement management; o Field or construction knowledge and experience; o Experience engaging with Indigenous communities; o Experience supporting large scale/infrastructure procurement processes and associated contracts; o Experience supporting projects within a formal Project Management environment will be considered an asset; and o An understanding of the National Environment Policy Act and National Historic Preservation Act regulatory processes as they pertain to Tribal Nations will be considered an asset; o Excellent written and oral communication skills; o Proven ability to use different systems and web-based applications.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
