The Role:
The Community Workforce Accommodation Advisor (CWAA) will be responsible for implementing the program during construction.
The CWAA Program supports opportunities for Indigenous participation in ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all in workforce accommodations.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Supporting the implementation of the CWAA program
* Coordinating the logistics of mobilizing and de-mobilizing CWAA Advisors
* Leading discussion and addressing questions about safety and respect in workforce accommodations
* Engaging and coordinating with workforce accommodation personnel, including camp managers, camp committees and prime contractors.
* Ensuring that CWAA Advisors have appropriate training and have completed onboarding activities prior to beginning work on-site
* Complying with all safety, code of conduct and fit for work requirements
* Acting as the point of contact for CWAA Advisors in communication flow between project representatives
* Managing issues raised by CWAA Advisors regarding workforce accommodation activities including escalating issues to the Program Manager where appropriate
* Supervisory responsibility with CWAA Advisors
* Assisting CWAA Advisors in completing reports
* Reviewing CWAA Program reports
* Compiling and managing CWAA report data
* Representing the CWAA Program with Indigenous communities as required

* Knowledge of Indigenous-specific values
* Must be able to travel, work designated shifts and reside in workforce accommodation
* Must be fit to work in a field construction environment including completion of an alcohol and drug screen prior to working on-site
* Willingness to work shift schedule: 6 days on - 1 day off (12+ hours/per day), nights, weekends or unusual hours.
* Understanding of resource development

* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute on assigned tasks

* Strong computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Education / Experience
* Minimum of 8 to 10 years of combined applicable academic training, certification and related stakeholder, psychology, counselling, social worker and/or community work.
* Pipeline construction and/or resource development experience an asset but not required
* First Aid Level 1 training considered an asset but not required
* WHIMS training considered an asset but not required

* This position is field-based and will require residing in a workforce accommodation (construction camp) setting
* This position requires candidates to have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
