The Role:
Responsibilities:
* Provide sound Supply Chain Management advice, guidance, and options to internal project clients while following established processes and proper authorization controls
* Act as a liaison between Supply Chain and Business Unit ensuring timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations
* Continually identify, prioritize and mitigate risks and issues related to contracts
* Develop and recommend commercial contracting strategies including expediting
* Ensure contracting activities are properly aligned with the expectations of the Business Unit, and stakeholder groups, as applicable, while educating and supporting the deployment of best practices
* Create contract documents for the Form of Contract in accordance with Supply Chain Policies & Procedures
* Negotiate commercial terms and conditions of the contract(s)
* Draft Decision Summaries based on the RFP evaluations and in collaborating with stakeholders for approval
* Draft, negotiate, and execute contracts/purchase orders and ensure executed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties
* Lead/participate in supplier kick-offs (as required), outlining contract requirements and expectations
* Expedite all awarded commitments issued through purchase orders/agreements to meet delivery dates and avoid any foreseen delay
* Resolve disputes in accordance with the terms of the contract
* Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters
* Close out of the purchase orders on an ongoing basis
* Coordinate work for team as required
* Participate and provide input in the supplier performance management
* On-board, coach, and mentor new Supply Chain Contract-Sourcing Specialists
* Other duties as assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, people management skills and customer focus are a requirement
* Experience in all phases of procurement i.e. RFP, purchase orders, expediting
* Thorough understanding of contract structure, terms and conditions and supplier performance
* Experience managing high value relationships with internal and external stakeholders and understanding of their objectives and needs
* Working knowledge of information management systems and ability to quickly learn new systems;
* Proven strong negotiation skills and contract management expertise
* Comfortable with repetitive tasks and flexible for all kind of work
Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree required (Prefer Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain)
* Ten plus years of experience specifically sourcing and contracting and procure to pay processes or within the contract management and supplier lifecycle management
* Experience in the oil and gas industry. Midstream, energy generation, or construction experience preferred
* Experience with SAP would be an asset
